I look back at my grandparents who have been in their house since my parents were young. I envy that my sisters have a forever home, and I long for one day to have one of my own. Its no big secret that military families are always moving around, and are never in one place for very long. After the birth of my 3rd child, I really wanted to capture those pictures of them growing, and seeing them change. When she was a couple weeks old, I took a picture of her taking her first bath in our kitchen sink. I wanted to take another for comparison, and Its amazing what a year makes. As I take these pictures, it makes me want to continue to do this every year to remember just how little they use to be. Its heartbreaking knowing that in another year I will most likely not be able to take this picture again. At least not in the very sink it started.

I look forward to every year taking a picture of my oldest daughter in the same desk each year as she continues on with school, and as my son starts school. I know these memories will always be in my heart and in my head.  I want to be able to have a printed picture that will last forever so as they grow I can go back and look at the image and remember the story behind it. I want to be able to show them when they have children of their own, and tell them the stories behind these wonderful memories.

What are your fondest memories of your children? Do you have a picture that tells that story? This is why I offer documentary portrait sessions, to help you keep those memories behind the stories forever!
