It's no big secret that photographers' children don't always like to cooperate when the mood strikes. There is a constant behind-the-camera struggle when they just want to play or do their own thing. Laura of Simply Laura Photography had this very issue.
"Her husband is currently serving in the U.S. Army. During one of his work trips to Korea, he found a street vendor selling masks. Deciding his kids, ages 9 and 4, would think it was cool, he bought one. Upon returning, his wife and family picked him up and they went out to dinner. He snuck out to put on the mask and surprise the kids. They thought it was the best thing! Each wanted a chance to wear it. On the way home, her husband decided it would be funny to see what other drivers might think of the mask. So, with his wife driving, he placed the mask on his head. Laura stopped at a light and turned on the interior lights. They waited to see what the other drivers thought. One driver thought it was hilarious! The people in the other car were laughing and pointing. Her husband played it deadpan while everybody cracked up!
As this was all going on I was thinking that this would be awesome for a photography series. Having the opportunity to capture kids again having fun, but not having to worry or fuss over what their hair looked like or the goofy faces they would make in the pictures."
